SSM HEALTH GOOD SAMARITHAN HOSPITAL - MT. VERNON: SSM Health names Rick Redetzke as System Vice President, Facilities and Real Estate

SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital - Mt. Vernon issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.

SSM Health has named Rick Redetzke as its System Vice President, Facilities and Real Estate, effective Sept. 24. In this position, Redetzke will oversee the health system’s initiatives related to real estate and facilities, security, emergency preparedness and environmental safety. He’ll also lead the identification, design and implementation of large-scale facility enhancements across SSM Health’s four-state footprint.

Redetzke brings more than 20 years of real estate development, design and construction experience to SSM Health, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Facilities and Real Estate at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich., where he oversaw real estate and facility strategy across 12 hospitals and 180 ambulatory sites. Before that, Rick served as a Project Executive for ERDMAN, a health care facilities consulting firm in Madison, Wisc.

“Rick brings a wealth of real estate and facilities expertise and leadership to SSM Health,” said Steve Smoot, Chief Operations Officer of SSM Health. “He is a wonderful addition to our organization and will play a key role as we continue to expand and enhance our ministries, while providing exceptional, compassionate care to the communities we serve.”

Redetzke earned a bachelor’s degrees in both industrial engineering and business from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville and a Master of Business Administration from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. He is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager with the American Society of Healthcare Engineering.
